QuickNom helps you view and change nominations, scheduled quantities, manage Customer inventories and other storage transactions.
QuickNom is Internet-based, meaning that the program runs on a server on the Internet. To access the program, all you need is a standard Internet browser, such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer (see "System Requirements" for a list of correct versions of these browsers).
And since QuickNom is Internet-based, it can be accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. You can access QuickNom from your computer at work, from your laptop, or your computer at home.
You can move between screens, or navigate, around QuickNom by clicking on highlighted text, or links. You can also use the "Back" and "Forward" buttons on your browser to move to previously visited screens. For example, if you find you are at a screen you didn't intend on viewing, clicking on the "Back" button will return you to your previous screen.
QuickNom requires the minimum PC configuration noted below. If you are not sure of the configuration of your computer, see your system administrator.

To view all nominations that are scheduled to flow today, click on the link on the left hand side of the screen that reads "Daily Nom Summary". Enter today's date and click "Retrieve Nominations". A matrix of all nominations flowing on the selected date will be displayed.
To view more details about any particular nomination, click on the blue Nom # in the left-most column. A Nomination Detail screen will appear with all information related to that nomination.
Clicking "Cancel" will return you to the main screen.
To view nominations that are scheduled to flow for any given day, click on the link on the left hand side of the screen that reads "Daily Nom Summary". Select the date you wish to view and click on "Retrieve Nominations". A matrix of all nominations flowing on the selected date will be displayed.

To change or modify a previously submitted nomination, click on the link on the left hand side of the screen that reads "Daily Nom Summary". Enter the date of the nomination you wish to edit and click on "Retrieve Nominations". A matrix of all nominations flowing on the selected date will be displayed.
Click on the number of the nom you wish to edit in the Nom # column. A Nomination Detail screen will appear with all information related to that nomination.
Most nominations information may be edited. Please note that QuickNom performs limited checking of Operator nomination edits. Please check your changes to insure the accuracy of the nomination.
To save your changes, click on "Submit Changes".
To completely remove the nomination from QuickNom, click on "Delete Nomination". If a record of the nom is desired, the nom can be "zeroed" instead of deleted by entering a "0" nom quantity and clicking on "Submit Changes".
Clicking "Cancel" will return you to the main screen without submitting any changes to the nomination.
A nomination can be submitted by the Operator for any Shipper contract. Noms may be entered for any day (or days), including dates before today (back-dated noms).
To submit a nomination, click on the link on the left hand side of the screen that reads "Submit Nominations". Select the desired Shipper and click on "Continue".
A screen with the appropriate fields for your nomination information will appear.
You can use the "TAB" key or your mouse to move from field to field to input information.
To submit your nomination click on "Save Nomination". QuickNom will prompt you if you have forgotten some required information or have improperly entered any information.
Clicking "Reset" will clear all information without submitting the nomination.
Clicking "Cancel" will return you to the main screen with no nomination being submitted.
To input or change previously submitted scheduled quantities, click on the link on the left hand side of the screen that reads "Schedule Quantities". Select the date you wish to view and click "Retrieve Scheduled Quantities". A matrix of all scheduled nominations for the selected date will be displayed.
Scheduled quantities can be modified by typing in the "Scheduled Quantity" fields. Note that the default Scheduled Quantity is the nominated quantity.
Scheduled quantities for both the Receipt and Delivery points, if applicable, may be entered. Additionally, reduction reason codes or comments may be entered.
To submit your changes, click on the "Submit" button.
Clicking "Cancel" will return you to the main screen without submitting any changes to the scheduled quantities.
Point operator confirmations are shown on the "Schedule Quantities" and "View Point Quantities" screens under the "Confirmed" column heading.
A blank indicates the point operator has not yet reviewed the nominated quantities.
QuickNom allows operators to add, edit or delete Shipper transportation contracts.
To add a contract, click on the "Contract Mngt" link in the "Misc" category. Select "Add Contract" from the menu, then complete the contract information screen.
To edit a contract, click on the "Contract Mngt" link in the "Misc" category, then select "Edit Contract" from the menu.
A matrix of all contracts will be presented. Click on the Contract Number in the right hand column to see details of the contract. Contracts details may be edited and saved by clicking "Submit".
Clicking "Cancel" will return you to the main screen without submitting any changes.
QuickNom users access the system with a User Name and a Password. Additionally, users fall into one of three classes:
To provide access to any of these users, click on the "User Mngt" link in the "Misc" category of the navigation area on the left hand side of the screen. Then select the appropriate link to manage either Operator/Shipper users or Point Operator users.
To add a new Operator/Shipper user, click on the "Manage Operators/Shippers" link on the menu. All existing Operator/Shipper users are displayed.
Type in an appropriate User Name (at least 4 characters is recommended) and a Password (a least 4 characters, including both letters and numbers), select the appropriate Company, select either Shipper or Operator and click "Submit".
NOTE: OPERATOR ACCESS TO QuickNom ALLOWS VIEWING, MODIFICATION, AND DELETION OF ALL SHIPPER INFORMATION. IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT OPERATOR ACCESS BE LIMITED TO SPECIFIED OPERATOR PERSONNEL.
To delete an Operator/Shipper user, check the box labeled "Delete Row" next to the user entry you wish to remove and click "Submit".
To add Point Operator user, click on the "Manage Point Operators" link on the menu. All existing Point Operator users are displayed. Type in an appropriate User Name (at least 4 characters is recommended) and a Password (a least 4 characters, including both letters and numbers), select an associated point, and the "Submit".
To delete an Point Operator user, check the box labeled "Delete Row" next to the user entry you wish to remove and click the "Submit" button.
You are probably experiencing an Internet problem known as "caching." A cache is a locally stored piece of Internet data. Once you fetch data from an Internet server (like QuickNom), your computer (or your company's Internet gateway computer) stores the data so that it is quickly available next time you request it.
The problem with this "time saving" feature is that you don't always receive the newest data from the QuickNom server - you get the locally "cached" version.

The response time provided by QuickNom depends on numerous factors. QuickNom is designed with minimal download time in mind, but because it is Internet-based, many communications systems are involved in bringing QuickNom to your computer.
